Have A Pure Motive
When Jesus appeared before Kenneth Hagin in 1987, Jesus told him many things:
The Lord spoke to me and said, “I bless all of My people as far as I can. But the reason there is not the move of God and the depth of the flow of the Spirit, and the fullness of the manifestation of the Holy Ghost today is because men do not take time to hear from Me. And they do not take to follow My plan.
Many times, the reason people fail and the reason ministries fail is because they have the wrong plan, purpose, and motive.
No matter who you are or what your endeavor is, if your plans and purposes are in line with God, they will succeed.
Let’s stay with God’s plan. It will always prosper!
What Jesus said about a Pastor:
The Lord said, “He has never asked Me for any kind of plan for his life, his ministry, or his church. He forms his own plans, and then he asks Me to bless them. I bless him as far as I can, but I can’t meet his financial needs because he’s putting forth his own plans and not Mine. I didn’t tell him to do a lot of the things he’s doing. He just added his own plans and not Mine. I didn’t tell him to do a lot of the things he’s doing. He just added his own plans to what I did tell him to do. He tacks his plans on here and there, and I can’t bless them. I would if I could, but I can’t. I can’t put My approval on man’s plans when they are not My plans. You see, his purposes are all wrong. If his purposes are wrong, then his pursuits will be wrong.
As a pastor, I’ve seen people ask God for something for a certain purpose. Once the Lord answered their prayer, they changed the purpose of the usage of what God has blessed them with. This is changing the original purpose why God gave them what they asked for.
Other times, their motive or purpose was for money. For example: you ask God for a car so that you could ferry your children or so that you could visit the prayer groups, or with the car your original intention was for you to be able to get to church more conveniently. When the Lord blesses you with a car you begin to think about making more money out of the car by renting it out. It may be God’s plan for you to have a car but you changed the purpose of God. Your motive is to make more money instead of your spiritual development. Then you’ve got God’s plan but the wrong motive.
The purpose of the church is to build the body of Christ. Beware of pastors who use the church to build their ministries instead of the people in the local church. God’s primary purpose is to build the people in the church. People who have their motives wrong, will tend to take advantage of others.
Be pure in your motives before God; get your motives right.
