Prayer Mission to Shanghai

October 2008

On 12th October, the pastoral team left for Prayer Mission to Shanghai.

This recent trip was an unusual one. We had the opportunity to pray with three other ministers.

The first afternoon when we prayed with Pastor T, the Spirit of God moved supernaturally amongst us. In fact, on his way to Shanghai, Pastor T told the Lord that he would not share with anybody about what he was going through. The Lord spoke this to him: “You will see My Mighty Acts”. Little did we know that he had actually gone through a very difficult time and even went without a salary for one and a half years. The Lord supernaturally provided for him through an offering which made it possible for him to come.

God ministered to Pastor T and the gifts of the Spirit were in operation. In prayer, we picked up concerning things to pray for him and the Spirit of God came upon him. Once a dynamic preacher, but he had now become sorrowful, was broken and hurt. Two months into his marriage, he had wanted to commit suicide. He requested that Pastor Yew Kwong lay hands and pray for him. When Pastor Yew Kwong laid hands on him, he declared that from that day onwards, Pastor T would never be the same again. The ministry of laying on of hands often helps to release people from their condition in the spiritual realm to move forward in the Lord.

A Spiritual Surgery

The following day, we continued praying with Pastor T and the other two ministers, Pastor Z and Preacher C. The Spirit of God was still moving on Pastor T. Both he and Preacher C were seated next to the window and both of them felt a gust of wind blow through. They looked around but were convinced that it was not the natural wind for there was no breeze whatsoever. They soon realized that it was the Wind of the Holy Ghost and were totally immersed in His manifested Presence. Pastor T fell backwards on his chair, and became drunk in the Spirit. His only concern was that he could not “get up” on time to catch his flight back to his hometown! Afterwards, he told us that God did a “spiritual surgery” on him. We can imagine to the worst degree what he went through that warranted a “surgery”. At the end of the two days’ stay in Shanghai, Pastor T was recharged and strengthened in the Lord again. He wrote to us on Skype after we returned to Singapore, that he was so thankful to the Lord for the time of ministry in Shanghai. And he still mentioned that had the Lord not reveal those things in prayer, he would tell no one about what he was going through. But God loves him too much to leave him status quo. He Himself ministered to him in His own special way and no wonder He spoke to him: “I will show you My Mighty Acts”.

We also had a wonderful time praying with Pastor Z and Preacher C. Things were accurately spoken and prayed out. We prayed for Pastor Z concerning his Prayer Mountain project which was said to take off early next year. Even Preacher C had his personal business matter taken care of through the ministry of prayer.

The three ministers returned to their home town full of the Spirit, were ministered to and satisfied by the Spirit of God.

All in all, our trip to Shanghai was very fruitful and we give God all the glory for all that He is doing through us. Truly, like what God spoke to Sis. Margaret: “It is not what you can do for Me, but what I can do through Faith Family Church.” To God be the glory and the praise, forever and ever more, Amen!
