Be Used By God
A few weeks ago I shared about how the Holy Spirit had prompted someone to pray for a promotion and it resulted in that person receiving that blessing.
Oftentimes God opens doors for us because He has a higher purpose then just for our promotion. More often than not there is someone in your midst that He wants you to reach out to or minister to. Especially for the lost, whom God is most concerned with. When you have an opportunity to share the gospel with them, the result of it may be they get saved or they may come to church with you. If not, you would have at least sown seeds into their heart. One day that seed planted in their spirit will bring about their receiving their salvation.
How I Received Jesus into My Life
I received my salvation on 10th October 1983 at 3.10pm on Monday, but the seed was sown into my spirit many years before. People had invited me to church before and my classmate’s sisters had shared the gospel with me also. In Perth I attended the Festival of Praise and was waiting for my friend to accompany me to the altar to receive salvation but nobody initiated it. After I came back from that meeting another friend of mine asked me to drive him to church so I borrowed a car to bring him there. I then asked my friends for a Bible and so the word got out. Hence they started praying for me at their Monday noon prayer. On 10th October, which was a Monday, I just felt that I needed to look for someone to tell me more about Christ. So after lunch at about 3.00pm I went to look for two of my classmates. But they told me that I had come to a point where I needed to “cross over the fence” to know more – they said I had to receive Christ – and they led me to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.
The Saints Prayed Me Over…
The day I received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, in my spirit I knew it was because of the prayer of the saints that had supernaturally prayed me over into the kingdom of God.
People had shared the gospel with me, others had invited me to church, some tried coaxing me into accepting Christ, girls got frustrated trying to bring me to the Bible study when I was a teenager.
But it was the united prayer of the saints at the final hours that ushered me to the point where I was totally open to turn and to seek God.
Obey His Promptings and it May Lead to the Next Prompting
When the Holy Spirit prompts us to reach out to the lost, pray for the sick, bring the oppressed, you must obey Him. If we constantly ignore Him, you will either ignore His prompting to pray for your own promotion or He will not prompt you to pray at all.
Much is given, much is required.
You have been taught to pray, you have been taught to recognise and to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. You cannot ignore the prompting of the Holy Spirit and expect Him to prompt you to pray concerning a blessing that is to come.
All God’s blessings and all His provisions are conditional.
