The Spirit of Wisdom to Make Divine Choices

In our last Pastor’s Notes, we shared about ‘2012, A Year of Turning Point’. I believe this is the Word from the Lord that for many in the year 2012, it will be a turning point in their lives.

Normally after service on Sundays, the young adults, the zenith and the zenith juniors will pray in their respective groups. But on Sunday 1st Jan 2012, for the first time, we had all the three groups come together to pray .

As we began to share with the young adults and the youths before we prayed, the Word of the Lord that came forth was about His Wisdom. Either the Holy Spirit will manifest His gift of the Word of Wisdom revealing more of our future (the gift of the Word of Wisdom always reveals the future), or in the new year when we are at the turning point of our lives, we need to ask God for His wisdom to make a decision to make that turn as He leads us. We need the Spirit of wisdom from God to see and to know that we are at the juncture of our turning point.

We need to know that it is time; we need to know to make the right decision. Karen felt that it is more about the Spirit of wisdom from the Lord to make divine choices which I believe to be so, too. Maybe for some, the Holy Spirit will manifest His gift of the Word of Wisdom to reveal more that is come.

If the year 2012 is to be a turning point of your life, then you need to make divine choices with the wisdom from God. You need wisdom to know which are the choices that are divine and those which are purely humanistic. Especially when the Word of the Lord that came forth was wisdom to make divine choices, then it may mean that when you are at that juncture of decision to make a turning point in your life, it may not be that simple and straight forward. It is for these reasons that the Lord is preparing us for that crucial moment of mental challenge in making a decisive decision, which could determine a very different outcome for our future. It may not be as simple and straight forward because there could be a few other options presented to you that may cloud your clear vision of the Lord’s choice unfolding before you.

Even if you have clear knowledge and understanding of what is the divine choice, yet you need wisdom to take the first step after making that choice. The first step is always important. Like a baby who is taking his first step; like an entrepreneur who is embarking on his first business venture. The first time to anything always stirs up a degree of anxiety in our emotions due to uncertainties of an uncharted course – of never been that way before. We can have the plan and the purpose of God clear for us but without wisdom, many divine plans have gone awry and was never fulfilled.

We Have the Unmerited Favour (Grace) of God

But we are the beloved children of God and we have the Heavenly Father’s unmerited favour (grace). Therefore we are confident that He will give us His wisdom to make divine choices.

During the prayer, Karen shared from this Scripture:

Zechariah 12:10 (NKJV)

And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced.

The house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem is the Church now. God has already poured out His grace and we have looked at the One who was pierced and have become the children of God. Since then God is still pouring out His grace upon us, the house of God; the Spirit of grace and supplication. The goodness of God will pour out His grace upon us to pray. When He pours out His grace upon us, it will get our attention and we will turn to Him; look to Him.

By the grace of God, He is preparing us: This is the reason why the Word of the Lord came forth to admonish us ahead of time to remind us to ask Him for wisdom. He spoke and said ‘the Spirit of wisdom to make divine choices.’ God always gives us His grace for we are His most favoured ones. There is no one else besides Jesus. It will always be by grace through faith. If He does not pour out His grace upon us then it will all be by the works of the flesh and our reasoning minds. If it is by His grace then it will be to His glory.

The Heavenly Father desires that we make the right choices. His choice is divine; it is the right choice always.
