We Pray with Supplication by His Grace

When we enter a season whereby we will need His wisdom to make divine choices, He will pour out on us His Spirit of grace and supplication so that we may pray.  Supplication is earnest and heartfelt prayer. It is by the Spirit of grace that He pours into our hearts to pray. It is not conjured up by human effort. It is through the Spirit of supplication that we constantly look to God, the Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.

He will pour out His grace upon us to supplicate for ourselves and for others so that He may give us His divine wisdom by His grace to make divine choices. Wehave entered into this new year with hope and expectation because we are confident in the Lord who pours out His grace upon us.

When we supplicate in the Spirit we enter into the realm of the Spirit. We are then more conscious of the spiritual realm than the natural realm. It will be easier to hear from the Holy Spirit. We will become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and in the Spirit we will recognise which is the divine choice.

Another important outcome of supplicating by His Spirit is that tremendous power of the Holy Spirit  will be released into the spiritual realm thus causing an effect to take place. The natural world is governed by the spiritual world hence often obstacles, in the natural, are removed because the forces of darkness has been affected. Angels are dispatched through supplication in the Spirit and they are sent to influence nature and the spiritual world on our behalf. Then at the right time, the divine choice will be presented before us.

Paul Prayed for the Spirit of Wisdom

As a church and as individuals we should pray the Ephesians prayer given by Paul.

Ephesians 1:16–18 (NKJV)

do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints

We can give thanks to God for granting us the Spirit of wisdom so that our spiritual eyes may be enlightened to make divine choices. We need His wisdom to make the right choice because there may be instances where we may be presented with more options than we actually need. That may complicate matters. Or worse, we may be presented with only one choice – God’s divine choice, but yet still did not choose it. As a result we remain status quo and missed making the turn in our lives.

We should also pray another of Paul’s prayer found in the book of Ephesians:

Ephesians 3:14–16 (NKJV)

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.

As we follow Paul to bow our knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and thank Him, He will strengthen us in our inner man by the Holy Spirit to make the divine choice. Divine choices are received in our spirits and decisions are made with our will and mind. When our spirit is strengthened, our spirit will influence our mind and will to make that divine choice.

We need not be anxious about anything for He will pour out His grace upon us. As we make the decision to follow Him as He leads us, then we will walk in the obedience of faith. Lay hold of His wisdom to make that divine choice. When you make that turn this new year, many will be blessed because of the grace of God.

Hold Fast to the Confidence of Our Hope

Faith will hold fast to the confidence of our hope that the Word of the Lord brings for this season. It is of faith that it might be by grace (Romans 4:16). When God pours out His grace upon us, we must respond with faith. Faith is then expressed through thanksgiving.

When we ask the Lord for wisdom, He always gives it to us according to James 1:5. Then we …

  1. Thank God for the turning point in our lives.
  2. Ask and thank God for His Spirit of wisdom to make divine choices.
  3. Thank God for strengthening us with might by the Holy Spirit in our inner man to make the correct choice – it will be our first step leading to our turning point.
  4. Yield to the Spirit of grace to pray with earnest and heartfelt prayers as He pours out His grace and supplication upon us.
  5. Follow the direction of the Holy Spirit as you pray for others and for the government of our country.
  6. Look expectantly to Jesus with thanksgiving and praise for He has a great future for you.

This year shall be a turning point of your lives and by the grace of God you shall make divine choices. Your lives will embark on a new beginning for the glory of God!

May God’s richest wisdom be upon you.
